Los Angeles, CA, August 26, 2003 - Metin Bereketli, Hollywood’s charitable international artist renown for his DIVERSITY-series of striking compositions and one-of-a-kind “Healing Art” therapeutic art program, has participated in yet another worthwhile charitable program by having a solo exhibit at and donating his DIVERSITY reproductions to 55th Annual HUMANITARIAN AWARDS Awards Dinner, August 21, 2003.

The high-profile gala held at Beverly Hilton Hotel, Beverly Hills, California, was organized by NCCJ, the National Conference for Community and Justice. NCCJ, founded in 1927 as The National Conference for Christians and Jews, is a human relations organization dedicated to fighting bias, bigotry and racism. NCCJ promotes understanding and respect among all races, religions and cultures through advocacy, conflict resolution and education.

“All my life I’ve worked towards the same goals and prayed for a better rapprochement among world’s greatest religions and cultures,” Bereketli said. “That’s the driving force behind my Diversity-series of original hand painted artwork. I’m so happy and honored to support NCCJ’s lofty goals and participate in this splendid award dinner,” the Hollywood Painter concluded.

Throughout the night Metin welcomed the VIP visitors to his solo art exhibition and personally signed the collectible reproductions of his DIVERSITY paintings for celebrities like Alison Heruth-Waterbury and Timothy P. Cavanaugh of the upcoming and breath-taking TV series D.H.S. (Department of Home Security).

NCCJ’s 2003 Humanitarian Awards went to such prominent California leaders as California State Treasurer Phil Angelides and CalPERS; LA County Sheriff Leroy D. Baca; and Bastion Capital Chairman Daniel D. Villaneuva, Sr.

Metin congratulated all award winners in person and affirmed his strong belief in the empowering leadership of such humanitarian champions to make our world a better place for “life, liberty and pursuit of happiness.”

Master of Ceremonies of the night was ABC7’s fantastic Marc Brown. Guest speakers included Rabbi Stephen Jacobs. Dinner Co-Chairs were Ed Asner, Sheldon Ausman, and Arthur Kassel who also happens to be one of the principal producers of the D.H.S. series.

An internationally acclaimed Los Angeles based painter, Metin's contemporary works have been featured in galleries and exhibitions worldwide including the Smithsonian, Sotheby's Science Center, Paramount Pictures & Universal Studios and Hollywood & Highland.

Metin’s style and generosity has earned him the esteem of many American leaders, such as Presidents Bush and Carter. His work can also be seen on many television programs including Friends, Frazier, ER, Becker, Felicity, Will & Grace, Chicago Hope, The Bold and The Beautiful, Passions, General Hospital, Party of Five, Drew Carrey Show and several other TV and film sets.
