Beverly Hills, CA -- Hollywood-based international painter Metin Bereketli, who is known for his striking DIVERSITY series of paintings, has participated in the 2nd Annual Washington's Birthday Gala Honoring American's Heroes. The worthwhile charity gala held on February 21, 2003 at The Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California was attended by Arthur M. Kassel (Exec. Producer/Event Chair & Co-Host), Gov. Gray Davis (Hon. Event Chair), Hon. Robert Hertzberg (Dinner Chair), Hon. Maxine Waters (Co-Chair), Hon. Wendy Greuel (Co-Chair), Sheriff Lee Baca, and Hon. Harry Pregerson.

Metin received a special welcome at the gala by having a personal art exhibition where the VIP guests had the chance to enjoy three of his original brush-work paintings: GOLDEN EAGLES, DIVERSITY #1, and GOD BLESS AMERICA. Also donated to this good cause were the sales revenues of Metin's one-and-only "Peace Necktie."

The Hollywood celebrities who attended the call to honor help the U.S. veterans included Diane Ladd (Co-Host), Chuck Norris, Charles Durning, Kelsey Grammer, Johnny Grant.

Among the Special Guests were such stars as Lionel Richie, Norm Crosby, Fred Travalena, and Robbie Brit.

Metin said "I love being a part of U.S. VET's annual gala because this organization helps 200,000 homeless individuals a year through U.S. Vets National AmeriCorps program, has served 5,000 homeless veterans at the Westside Residence Hall since 1993, an additional 2,000 individual homeless veterans are served annually through the L.A. Outreach Team. US VETS organizes many other programs that help our veterans in need. As an artist working and living in the United States I feel great pride and joy to donate the proceedings of my art exhibition, neck tie, and print sales to this worthwhile cause."

The event catalog reserved a full-page to Metin's "God Bless America" painting.
